About Aikido

The Art of Aikido 

The art of aikido comes originally from the battlefields of Japan and is linked to understanding the Japanese sword in offense and defence. Our art begins with escapes from grabs, holds and immobilisations, all of which would traditionally prevented a swordsman from using his sword. It then progresses to defence from striking attacks common to the sword including overhead cuts, side cuts and thrusts.
