Mt Gravatt Cave

Our very own cave on Mt Gravatt mountain, sshh... its a secret. Well I knew about the cave from my school days but never actually went to it , though my sisters friend had a party in it once i am told , and a movie was shot there. Today with kids of my own it was a great little adventure starting out from the dojo and back in time for lunch. Big enough to have a little picnic in and surprisingly unlitterred and graffitied, its used sometimes by local youth groups and scouts I think. We head out from our dojo up the hill a bit and then its off track for a while.

We took the opportunity to 'Go on a bear hunt' inspired by the book by Michael Rosen, after pre hiding a Bart the Bear from childcare in the cave.

BTW Caving friends tell us the cave is conglomerate and pretty unstable!

UPDATE Dec 2013: Just back from a cave trip, its been fenced in , so you can only look from the outside noes :(
