Coorparoo Aikido dojo
When Spring Hill Aikido dojo closed in early 2000's it relocated to Coorparoo and Hill End. Coorparoo is where the hard nuts (Daniel James, Simon Russel) from the morning classes when. Practcie continued there much as it had at Spring Hill.
The morning sessions continued at 6:30am week mornings and Saturdays are the more respectable 8am.
Classes were held at 226 Old Cleveland Rd., Coorparoo, Brisbane just opposite McDonalds where caffine was often consumed in liberal quattaties after class. The dojo was hosted in theAustralian Karate Academy and featured a permenant mat area (on concrete floor to toughen us up) and showers. The infamous Dr. Soft was a bit of a local legend.
The dojo eventually closed when Steve Dows decided to join Aikido Yuishinkai with Danny, Simon and John Ward at Griffith University Aikido Club.
Interestingly, sometime later the Hill end dojo moved into this place in the mid 2000's, but is back at Hill End again.
Danny built some weapons racks and Kamiza stand that lived on at the Logan dojo and are now at Arans Mizu dojo in the valley
